What is biodegradable material?

Fully biodegradable plastics are mainly made from natural polymers (such as starch, cellulose, and chitin) or agricultural and sideline products through microbial fermentation or synthesis of biodegradable polymers. Under natural conditions such as soil and/or sandy soil, and/or under specific conditions such as composting conditions or anaerobic digestion conditions or aqueous culture
solutions, degradation is caused by the action of microorganisms existing in nature, and eventually completely degrades into carbon dioxide (CO2) or/and methane (CH4), water (H2O) and their mineralized inorganic salts of the elements they contain, as well as new biomass plastics.

What is a qualified biodegradable material?

The degraded products are completely decomposed by the microorganisms in the natural environment within the period of time, reaching 100% biodegradation (compostable), without any residual debris, and the environmental load is minimized. And it meets the conditions of “90% decomposition rate within 180 days, 90% disintegration degree within 84 days, non-toxic compost, and no metal”.
